Cavendish Member, Jonathan Reynolds took part in the ‘Great Tommy Sleep Out’, swapping his bed for a sleeping bag to raise vital funds and awareness for over 6000 military veterans who are experiencing homelessness in the UK right now.
Jonathan slept rough for 3 nights in a bivvie bag and a shelter (no tent) in atrocious conditions!! The first night was so cold with temperatures below zero he couldn’t sleep and the next two nights were constant heavy rain, with over 20mm falling in one night – his canopy almost touching his face!
At the time of posting Jonathan has raised an incredible £1448 on behalf of Royal British Legion.
Many ex-military suffer from PTSD and mental health problems and struggle to adjust to civilian life. Therefore with every penny raised, Royal British Legion Industries can provide safe, warm housing and ensure everyone has a fair opportunity to gain employment, regardless of health conditions or disability.
Jonathan would like to thank all those who have donated to these much-needed funds for this incredible cause along with all those who have supported him along the way.
