As Captains of Cavendish for 2021 we are proud to extend a very warm welcome.
Laid out over 95 years ago by the great course designer Dr Alistair McKenzie, Cavendish offers ‘sheer golfing enjoyment’.
Cavendish has changed very little since its inception and is widely regarded as the most authentic MacKenzie-designed course in the world. It is a UK Top 100 course and featured prominently in a Golf.com article on the 25 best sub 6,000 yard courses in the world in 2020.
Recent research shows a remarkable similarity in the design solutions MacKenzie adopted at Augusta National, some seven years after Cavendish was completed. The past few years have seen large investments in both course and machinery, resulting in a product of which we are truly proud.
As Captains, we invite you to come and enjoy a great day on challenging greens and superb fairways surrounded by the Peak District and the multitude of wildlife that lives here.
At just 5,700 yards you may believe it to be short, but with very testing undulating greens and short deceiving par threes, and you’ll not find it easy to shoot par. All standards of golf are catered for and visitors often comment on the friendliness of our club.
We look forward to welcoming all visitors to Cavendish Golf Club, in the beautiful spa town of Buxton.
