Cavendish Ryder Cup

Some 5hours prior to the Bethpage Main Event, 48 Cavendish Members played our version of Ryder Cup Friday.

At 0740am, post a bacon sarnie, Mr Captain and Captain Elect were on the Guinness, joined by Jake, Neil and Will !!

Once a dram had been taken on the 1st Tee our Honourary Starter Mr Bob Clark got the matches underway with suitable up beat music blaring away in the background, which could still be heard on the 6th tee!!!

12pts were available for the front 9 betterball matches with a further 12pts being available for the back 9 Foursomes matches.

With the last group coming down the 18th the scores were 10pts V 12pts to the USA team, the final result being 11pts V 13pts.

There was some great Craic during lunch, followed by a winner takes all putting competition with no winner – monies donated to the Club – thanks all…

Juniors teed off with an adult / parent from 5pm for a 7hole Texas Scramble, followed by live music, a quality raffle and auction of an Open Royal Portrush Tour Golf bag which alone raised a further £500.

Thanks to everyone that attended the day and evening sessions, some great memories and great camaraderie throughout.
