MacDonalds Portal, Spa & Golf Hotel at Tarporley, was chosen for Lady Captain’s away weekend for her party of 30 golfers.
Cavendish ladies plus a few friends from Buxton & High Peak GC enjoyed three games of golf, good food and lots of laughter.
Sunday’s golf on the Championship course was an individual stableford competition which was won Pam Brindley along with the converted ‘Trippers Award’ with Fiona Flynn coming a very close second and Nisey Eassom coming third. Some excellent scores from everyone on a lovely sunny course.
Monday’s golfing activity was a Florida Scramble team event on the Premier Course and Tuesday’s was a 123 Waltz back on the Championship Course. Again beautiful sunny weather and everyone enjoyed the courses.After the final meal, Lady Captain’s charity coffers were swollen by an hilarious ‘fines regime’ – players were fined for going into bunkers, hitting trees, playing with a coloured ball, wearing a Skork, being cheeky to LC and anything else LC thought of!!
