The Captains Farewell followed on from the Prize Night Presentation.
Outgoing Junior Captain (Billy) welcomed Oscar Roberts into his New Role, Anna welcomed Andie Curtis as Lady Captain and Phil congratulated Jeff Haddon as Mr Captain.
Anna thanked everyone who contributed, volunteered and donated to the various Captains Charity events held throughout the Year. The Captains were absolutely delighted and humbled by the members generosity and they confirmed the sum raised to be £7545.08. Actually, once the Gift Aid amounts had been added the Grand Total raised for Christie’s Charity was £8190.08 – just fantastic.
Phil thanked the Board, the Centenary Committee, Paul and his team, Lee, Liam, Warwick and the Greens team for all their fantastic support during the Year.
Finally thanking the Membership in general for all their wonderful comments and backing throughout a Summer of Sun, making some fabulous memories from the Year in the support of the events from the opening of the superb Centenary Bridge (great job Ian Mycock), the Centenary Weekend, Charity Golf Days, Captains Away Weekend, Joint Captains Day, Exchange Days @ Sherwood Forest & Hallowes, the Collectors Society’s visits and the Ryder Cup event.
Andie then announced Shelley Reynolds as Lady Vice Captain for 2027 and Jeff announced Carl Wagstaffe as Captain Elect for 2027.
Anna, Phil and Billy were extremely proud and honoured to be your Captains in our Clubs Centenary Year and wish Andie, Oscar and Jeff a fantastic year throughout 2026.
