Cavendish has welcomed some famous faces to the course in recent weeks with European Tour player and World No. 25 Matt Fitzpatrick playing the course alongside his brother, world number 65 ranked Amateur golfer, Alex. They were joined by their dad to play at Cavendish on Thursday 22nd May.
The following week, Cavendish welcomed ‘The Bullet’ Marcus Armitage to play Cavendish in a ‘Friendly’ match against club ambassador, George Bloor.
According to George, home advantage definitely played its part in helping him win the match and take the £40 wager. Despite the loss, Marcus said that he thoroughly enjoyed his round at Cavendish and we welcome him back any time.
Friday also saw Peter Finch, of Quest Golf Academy, visit the course and lead off the day. Teeing off at 8am, Peter set out to film the course and his round. Even though he didn’t play up to his usual standards, he was full of praise and admiration for the course and its setup. Although, he was almost left a little red-faced after a near miss on the 18th. You will be able to see why in his vlog which goes live on Youtube tonight at 7pm.
In another friendly match, George welcomed fellow pro, Richard Mansell, to Cavendish on Monday. Richard was impressed with the course, despite losing out to George.
