Girls Golf Rocks
Last Thursday saw the first of our Girls Golf Rocks sessions.
It was a glorious sunny evening and the class was full with girls ranging in ages from 7 to 12 year olds.
Cavendish Pro, Lee Marshall, introduced the girls to Cavendish golf course and then focused the first session on some putting basics. It was brilliant to see the girls quickly going from never having touched a putter to sinking putts from different locations around the green.
With a variety of fun competitive games the girls grew in confidence.
The session finished with some group challenges which the girls all loved. They were each presented with a lovely purple golf ball (kindly donated by our juniors section) to take home and practice ready for next week’s session.
The next few weeks will see the girls learning the basics from putting, chipping up to a full swing; in the final session Lee will be taking them on to the course to play some holes.
We are delighted to be supporting the England Golf’s #GIRLSGOLFROCKS initiative – a great way for girls to learn to play golf in a fun and safe environment.
Watch this space to see how they get on!
