Dr MacKenzie

‘Twitter meets the Scotsman’ Sunday 15 February 2015

In our 90th Anniversary Year it’s a chance to look back at how it all started.
Richard Atherton (Director of the MacKenzie Society of Great Britain and Ireland) and recognised club expert, shares some fascinating stories about the great man, his works and how Cavendish Golf Club came into existence in 1925. MacKenzie was a consummate self publicist who used all available means to promote his work. MacKenzie could not have conceived the revolution that has taken place in electronic media, but no doubt would have used them if they had been available to him.

For the second part of the presentation, Lottie Buckley will be showing us how social media works and how Cavendish is using these new marketing tools.
If you don’t know your Twitter from your Facebook, Lottie will guide us…

We’re also planning a fun 9 hole mixed comp starting at 10am, with soup and bacon roles when we’ve finished and the presentation to follow around 12.45 for around 30 minutes. No cost for the comp – but there again there’s no prize either – it’s just for fun, weather permitting of course.

Cost for food is £5 per person.

Please come to this special presentation even if you can’t play in the comp. Please give names for comp and food to Rachel, so we can plan the catering.
