Open Week Day 6

Mens Seniors 4BBB Results

Day 6 of Cavendish Open Week saw the return of the seniors, many from last year when the competition had to be cancelled due to heavy rain!

200 seniors took part in a full field from many parts of the country – some travelling several hundred miles to play Cavendish.

Two seniors, Dave and Lee from Puckrup Hall near Tewkesbury made the 220 mile return trip to play Cavendish, but this time the partners due to play with them did not show, so Cavendish member Pat Campbell kindly stepped in as a marker. By coincidence Pat had played Puckrup Hall for the first time in June and loved the course.

Dave and Lee were enchanted with their first experience of Cavendish and loved every minute; they are resolved to return next year.

The picture  shows Ian Pickles from Naresborough, Donald Moody from Bury St. Edmunds, Tony Bedford from Meltham (also photographed on Day 2 of Open Week) and Norman Higgins from Meltham (but not photographed on Day 2).

They all had had the most enjoyable day and said that it was an unusually interesting course (and not in any way a boring up-and-down course). They have confirmed they would be back next year because they had enjoyed the course so much. You are MOST welcome!

The weather was warm and cloudy although dry and a large field competed.

Great effort by all staff and volenteers for the whole week.

Special mention for the green staff for presenting the coarse and greens to such a high standard with limited resources in thought conditions.

    Well done.
