Neil & Mike welcome Warwick to Cavendish
Following a lengthy recruitment process Cavendish has appointed Warwick Manning as Course Manager starting 4 February. Mr Captain, Neil Flynn was on hand to extend a warm welcome on behalf of the Cavendish Members to a snow covered course last week and Greens Chairman and Captain Elect, Mike Higgins, welcomed Warwick on his first day in post on behalf of the Cavendish Board.
Warwick has over 20 years experience in green keeping and brings with him some great experience. After gaining an HND in Turf Science and Golf Course Management from Myerscough College in Preston, he worked at Troon North, Scottsdale, Arizona, then Loch Lomond, Scotland and finally Abbeydale GC, Sheffield, where he was Head Greenkeeper for 16 years. Warwick also has a detailed knowledge of modern green keeping machinery, gained whilst working for a specialist mower technology company advising golf and other sports organisations.
Warwick is delighted to be joining Cavendish at this particular time and to helping the board achieve it’s strategic aims for the course and ambitions for the club’s centenary in 2025. He is committed to preserving the fabulous original Alister MacKenzie design, but will make progressive improvements to the presentation and enhance the overall course experience.
Cavendish members look forward to meeting Warwick who can be sure of a warm welcome.
