Cavendish party visit Bramall Park

The third of the Captain’s MacKenzie Trail fun away days took place yesterday (9 August) at the lovely Bramall Park Golf Club.

This parkland course founded in 1894, was redesigned by Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1921 and is part of the nine courses that make up the Cavendish MacKenzie Trail.

48 ‘MacKenzie Trailers’ from Cavendish enjoyed great weather and played the course in 13 mixed teams, individual stableford.
After a very enjoyable game on a very well maintained course, 35 members enjoyed a meal with great views from the newly-built and very impressive veranda. Great food, great service and lovely views.

34 cpo

The winners of the main prizes were:

1st Alan Jones 34 points cpo
2nd Maxine Chewen 34points cpo
3rd PJ Collins 34 points cpo

8 special prizes were awarded on a random card draw.

Some of the ‘MacKenzie Trailers’ are seen in the main photo with their special Record Cards.
When all nine courses have been played a rather smart certificate of achievement is earned.
A large number of members have set their sights on completing the Trail by the end of the summer – so lots to look forward to.
