Cavendish Teams have played in the next stages of 4 inter club knockout competitions in the past couple of weeks.
On Saturday 31st May at home, the Taskers Team of Alan Webster, Neil Bolton, Al Dean, Matt Kirk, Steve Whalley, Des Coleman & Mike Oakes took on an extremely strong, and past Taskers Trophy winning side from Hallamshire GC. Cavendish winning by 4 matches to 3 and therefore progressing to round 4 away at Branston next month.
The winner of that match will then be in to the last 8 teams.
On Saturday 7th June the Dunham Forest Team faced a tough away match at Vale Royal GC. The team of Jamie Barrett, Jeff Haddon, Aaron Woodward, Jonathan Taylor, Neil Booth, Ben Cross and Liam Hancock completing a superb win by 5 games to 2.
The Dunham Team now progressing into the last 16 of the competition.
On Saturday 14th June the City Glass Foursome Team faced an away fixture at the Wigan course Haigh Hall. Although running close in a couple of key games the home side emerged victorious by 5 games to 2. Good luck to Haigh Hall in the next round.
On Sunday 15th June the Archie Preston Team of The Captains, Frances Reynolds & Chris Unsworth, Fiona & Neil Flynn, Wendy Goldstraw & Neil Bolton, Andie Curtis & Jeff Haddon, Liz Brammeld & Matt Kirk and Rachael Child & Neil Curtis played an extremely competitive side from Clitheroe. Cavendish eventually winning by 4 games to 3 on our home course and now are also into the last 16 of the competition.
