Around 700 Derby Uni students attended a Fresher’s Fair earlier today.
It was held in the spectacular Dome, on the Buxton Campus, a listed building with breathtaking architecture, beyond comparison and a superb setting for a university.
The Derbyshire Golf inflatable driving stand was well received and gave many students the opportunity to pick up a golf club for the very first time and ‘have a swing’, guided by Cavendish professional Simon Townend, supported by Pat Campbell and Mike Watson.
Around 35 students have expressed a serious interest in attending a ‘Get into Golf’ introductory training session to be run in conjunction with Peak Practice Golf Range and Cavendish Golf Club.
The university organisers were delighted with the event and the support given by Cavendish Golf Club and Derbyshire Golf.
