Mr Captain would like to thank each and everyone of the 60 members that joined him on his away weekend to Leeds.
At 7am on Sunday 8th, 46 of us packed in to a bursting at the seams Coach for the 2hour journey to Sand Moor GC. It was a good job that 14 had decided to travel by car as there was literally no space left…
Following a good old fashioned English breakfast, tee times rolled out from 1035.
Sand Moor was in superb condition with fast paced true running greens and challenging pin positions. Great feedback on the course was received from all.
Back on the Coach for a 15min journey to the Weetwood Hall Hotel, a quality 3 course dinner was served from 715pm followed by a message of thanks and gratitude from the Captain. Prizes winners for the 4BBB competition won by Ken Hall & Carl Wagstaff with 44pts were announced by Jeff Haddon and a touching speech was given by Ken.
A brilliant evening of laughter and high spirits followed, it was reported that some revellers were still around at 3am !!!
Following Breakfast at the hotel, the Coach et al left for Bradford GC. Once again the course proved extremely popular and challenging with a group 4AM taking place. Winners with 83pts were Liam Hancock, Mike Oakes, Dave Ponsonby and Paul Ward.
A Fantastic and memorable weekend was enjoyed by all.
